All are welcome to attend and participate in the Richfield Disability Advocacy Partnership. Meetings are bi-monthly and are intended to help educate citizens on being inclusive to the disability community.

Guidelines for Collaboration with Richfield Disability Advocacy Partnership

  1. The number one beneficiary of the activities sponsored by R-DAP and collaborating agencies will be the disability community and the partnership it’s serving;

 
  1. Partnerships will strive to utilize the wisdom and expertise of the disability community and build capacity and leadership within the community;

 
  1. R-DAP members and the community it works with will be actively engaged in the development and implementation of all work plans and projects;

  2. Collaborating agencies will follow the leadership of R-DAP members;

 
  1. Programs, classes and activities have to be approved by the co-founder of R-DAP, Judy Moe;

  2. Priority is placed on R-DAP’s work style and the work style of the community it serves;

 
  1. Partners will work with the disability community, not for the disability community;

 
  1. Existing history, work and partnerships of R-DAP will be honored;

 
  1. Partners must commit to humility when working with the disability community and begin by first learning from the community before it can share the knowledge and resources it brings to the community;

 
  1. All activities will be done in a manner that best fits the disability community;

  2. Flexibility is considered a valuable asset;

 
  1. Partnering organizations will provide resources and support to R-DAP and the disability community. R-DAP will decide how partners can contribute in a way that is effective and meaningful for their community; and

 
  1. Collaborations and partners will not duplicate existing efforts.
